The degree focuses on the essential role of managing people, the organization and the organization relative to its external environment. Success involves meeting this challenge of organizational management in a dynamic environment of technological change, global competition and employee diversity. Faculty Profiles

Dr. Shelley Davis

Dr. Shelley Davis

Dr. Shelley Davis holds a Ph.D. in Management from Auburn University, an MBA from Kennesaw State University, and a B.S. in Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She worked for several years as a forensic scientist before returning to school and moving into academia. She primarily teaches in the area of organizational behavior. Dr. Davis is a member of the Academy of Management and Southern Management Association.

Management Program Concentrations

As a management major, you can customize your degree by taking general upper-level business electives or choosing a specialization.
General

Gain a deeper knowledge of business administration management by choosing the general electives option. This option includes a wide variety of business courses to prepare you to manage people and organizations effectively. By completing 12 credit hours of upper-level business courses, you can tailor your degree to your career interests.

Business Analytics
Refine your skills in data analysis with a specialization in business analytics. This specialization trains you in business data mining, database management systems, business programming and big data analytics. Following the program, you'll be able to apply the foundations of business analytics wherever your management degree takes you.
Entrepreneur
Want to learn the fundamentals of starting a business to maximize your management degree? The entrepreneur specialization will hone your creativity, teach you to identify marketing opportunities, and support innovative thinking to create new products and services. Following graduation, you'll enter the job market knowing how to manage and build successful businesses.
Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management
Earn your management degree while exploring the hospitality, tourism and event management industry. This specialization covers key areas such as legal considerations, financial trends, current industry issues, marketing strategies and human resource management—specifically within the hospitality, tourism, and event sectors. Human Resource Management
